The Southern Grains site has serviced the surrounding farming region since 1963.
In its early days it was a cleaning facility for Wright Stephenson & Co, later Meggitt Oilseeds, and it has long been a point of delivery and cleaning for wheat, barley, oats, canola, peas, beans, lentils, sunflowers, safflower, linseed, perennial and annual ryegrass, phalaris and cocksfoot.
In recent years the product and services offering has expanded to include container packing for domestic and export markets, grain storage, and supply of fertiliser and other agricultural inputs.
Under the ownership of Campbell and Lyndall Brumby since December 2011, Southern Grains has earned a reputation as one of south-western Victoria’s most reliable and efficient grain handling businesses.
They continue to develop and improve the range of products and services available to local and international clients.
Campbells 30 year career in agriculture has included various executive roles with responsibilities across Australia.
Campbell entered the fertiliser import and supply industry 19 years ago working with Pro-Ag and DIRECT Fertilisers before assuming management positions with ABB Grain Ltd and VITERRA.
The opportunity arose in late 2011 to take on Southern Grains, with the focus on expanding the range of services.
Over the years Campbell has established a loyal client base of broadacre cropping and grazing clients across Victoria and Southern NSW.
Lyndall joined Campbell at Southern Grains following a successful career in real estate and business administration.
She provides account management and administrative expertise, her professional approach ensuring operations run smoothly.
